Mental health is one of the most talked-about topics currently in the field of well-being. The impact that the covid19 pandemic had (and has) on our lives, especially at work, has drawn attention to this very relevant topic.

In Portugal, as in many other countries, mandatory telework was decreed in order to minimize the transmission of the disease. This change greatly affected the mental health of the population - many families found themselves overwhelmed with work outside of hours, difficulty establishing a routine, taking care of the house, looking after the children all day, and also supervising their distance learning. Consequences such as stress, anxiety, fatigue, among others, quickly began to be felt.

In the last two articles, Digiplanet talked about work stress and how to deal with it. Now we want to give suggestions of applications to improve the mental health of workers (and beyond) and help maintain productivity levels in a healthy way!

Happify

The Happify app was developed based on studies by various scientists and experts in the field of psychology. Its slogan is “Against stress and worry” and the goal is to increase users' happiness levels. Demonstrating the app's effectiveness, they claim that 86% of people who use it regularly confirm that they feel better. Happify offers games, tasks, and activities such as guided meditation!

Pomodoro Timer Lite

We have covered the Pomodoro method several times in our articles. It is one of the most widely used productivity techniques worldwide with proven results. The goal is to maintain focus for 25 minutes and take a 5-minute break. After 4 cycles, take a longer break of 30 minutes. You will notice that during work periods, you have great peaks of concentration. The Pomodoro Timer Lite app times your work and break periods, allowing you to customize them according to different work rhythms.

Headspace

Headspace is one of the best-known applications to help you start meditating and increase concentration levels. The journey begins with small exercises focused on breathing, anxiety, focus, and sleep using meditations that can even be done during running and walking. This app was created by Andy Puddicombe, who was a Buddhist monk for 10 years and decided to apply Buddhist techniques in the world of technology.

Stoic

THE Stoic is an application that will help you deal with stress, based on the principles of Stoicism. It tracks the user's mental health, records mood and state of mind variations, and offers meditation and reflection exercises. With this app, you can also build your personalized routine to foster your organization and reflection on your day. Throughout the journey with Stoic, many suggestions and tips are given that will greatly improve your mental health and help you become a happier person.
