Is it worth buying a Refurbished one?

A Refurbished computer is a professional-grade device that has been used for a short time, has been restored, and is back on the market at a much more affordable price and, as a rule, with a 1-year warranty. Were you intrigued by the detail of the price being much lower? It's really true - and we will show you that it's definitely worth it!

A Refurbished device is not the same as a used one, in the sense we are accustomed to the word "used". Generally, the quality of refurbished laptops is significantly higher than those sold in stores or by individuals second-hand, as they are professional-grade computers, more durable and long-lasting. In addition to this, you can also customize the type of disk or storage of your PC, making it a much more powerful and faster version than the original.

So that you do not have any fear of acquiring a Refurbished device and having technical problems with it shortly after purchase, there is a law that requires sellers to provide at least 6 months of warranty for all refurbished products sold. According to Expresso, "The period for returning or exchanging defective or faulty products will increase from two to three years starting January 1, 2022. (...) The three-year period also applies to refurbished products, such as mobile phones or computers. However, the period can be reduced to 18 months if the goods are used, and by agreement between buyer and seller."

Speaking of values, if you want to buy a new computer, with good technical characteristics, you should be prepared to spend at least 600 euros. The same equipment, a refurbished version, would cost about half the price. At Digiplanet, our refurbished laptops start at around 200 euros!

These prices are justified by the fact that refurbished computers come from large companies that lease or rent computers, which are frequently renewed, giving way to newer models. These laptops are purchased by companies like Digiplanet and go through a maintenance process before being sold cheaper.

Maintenance, carried out by a specialized technical team, consists of cleaning the equipment, formatting it and improving some characteristics, such as memory and/or processor. Finally, it is tested to ensure good performance.

Besides being cheaper, opting for a Refurbished computer is eco-friendly! Recovering a laptop reduces environmental waste and the production of electronic waste, giving new life to equipment. This model of circular economy allows for the recycling of electronic waste and access to affordable computers from reputable brands like DELL, LENOVO, or HP.

At Digiplanet, we have several employees and family members of employees purchasing our refurbished ones. There is no better seal of quality than employees themselves recommending a company's products. The daughter of one of our technical collaborators bought a Lenovo X240, even increased the disk and RAM memory, all for less than €300. You saved, contributed to a more sustainable planet and have a super powerful laptop! What are you waiting for to get yours?
