Its main menu, the Dock, is located, by default, at the bottom of the screen and is easily customizable. On the other hand, Windows gives more control over the overall appearance to the user, which may include, for example, widgets on the main screen and other types of quick access elements. However, it is important to mention that, with the launch of the Windows 11, Microsoft seems to follow the minimalist trend and also "simplify" your toolbar, getting closer to the look more clean already mentioned of macOS.

Moving on to the field of security, there is no doubt that Microsoft has been striving, in recent years, to improve the Windows Defender, the default antivirus of your software. Still, the reputation of being more secure attributed to macOS is undeniable; Apple's software has a well-developed architecture and security policies, which makes this system much less targeted by malware and viruses. Furthermore, Apple has a history of regular security updates to fix any type of vulnerabilities.

As for the compatibility, Windows is clearly the winner in the category. macOS, although compatible with most popular applications, has a catalog quite inferior to that of Microsoft's system. Windows has a much larger software library and it is easier to find certain products, such as, for example, games and niche products.

Finally, a crucial aspect of any operating system is its performance. In general, for everyday use, macOS is known for being faster, which is also observed in intensive computing tasks, such as video or photo editing and rendering. However, Windows stands out in tasks that demand a lot from CPU, such as, for example, games, where Microsoft's operating system is the chosen one due to its speed and support.
